A summary of my fanfic

Postby Cysma on Mon Sep 08, 2008 11:49 am

I haven't written the full fic proper, but I did write up a detailed summary of everything that is supposed to happen:

The titular spice (Lawrence Craft) and wolf (Horo), with the protection
of their escort, a sword-wielding, chainmail-clad adventurer named
Cysma, arrive at a massive city called Lironus.

Cysma makes a living by raiding dungeons and slaying monsters, and he
needs a merchant to sell his loot to. That's where Lawrence comes in.
Their business with each other is quite simple: Cysma fights off the
creatures that threaten them, and Lawrence buys anything off of said
creatures' bodies that would be of value. Cysma has also developed
feelings for Lawrence's business partner, Horo, but he is too shy
around girls to say anything, and he is completely unaware of Horo's
true identity as a wolf deity.

When the three first arrive in the city, they are stalked by a
mysterious hooded, cloaked man who watches them from a distance, but
does not approach them that day.

Later that night, as the trio rests at an inn, Horo is awakened to a
noise, and finds that a thief is trying to make off with their wagon
full of goods. But before she can alert anyone, another man, outfitted
in plate mail armor and armed with a sword and shield, shows up in time
to discover what is going on. The thief tries to put up resistance, but
the armored man quickly lops off both his hands and finishes him off by
running him through with his sword.

The next morning, the thief's body is found in the city square for all
to see, hung in front of a sign justifying why he deserved to die. Horo
informs Cysma and Lawrence of what had happened last night, and Cysma
splits up from the other two to find the armored man.

The person that matches the description provided by Horo is a tall
yellow-haired paladin with the name of Alexander Hikaro. When
confronted on the subject of the alleged thief, Alexander neither
admits nor denies that it was his doing. What he does say, however, is
that the scene reminded him of a time years ago when the corpses of
literally hundreds of thieves, murderers, rapists, swindlers, and pagan
cultists showed up in the square one morning; each body had a sign
stating the sin or sins that the person had committed. The city of
Lironus now lives in fear of this murderous crusader, and Hikaro, a
paladin of Lironus' Grand Church, wants it to stay that way.

Around this time, Lawrence has gone to visit a merchant's guild, and
Horo stays at a tavern alone, where she is confronted by the hooded
man. While he appears ominous in his cloak, he speaks to Horo like a
friend and buys her all the drinks she wants. Once she is too drunk to
use her better judgement, the man takes her out of the city and stops
in an open field.

The mysterious man then pulls back his hood to reveal a pair of black
lupine ears on his head. His name is Kurokami, wolf god of famine. Horo
is in disbelief at first, but that soon changes when Kurokami removes
his cloak to show his black wolf tail (not to mention the rest of his
body, since he didn't have anything else on). Like Horo, Kurokami is
fed up with being alone and has been seeking companionship. And what
better companion for a wolfman than a wolfgirl? Horo sympathizes with
him, and she would think things over before being with him ("What
should I say to Lawrence?" "Is this guy even telling the truth?"
etc.),
but she is a bit too drunk to do so. Kurokami proceeds to undress her,
and then wraps his arms around her. Horo is warmly reminded of her own
people back in her hometown of Yoitsu...

Kurokami wakes up alone the next morning and finds himself alone. Horo
has already returned to Lawrence and Cysma. He tries to return to
Lironus, but is caught by Alexander. The paladin sees his wolf ears and
tail and assumes him to be a demon. He quickly strikes with his sword
before Kuro can react.

By noon, Kurokami, naked and covered in blood, is in the city square
facing his own public execution, with Alexander himself being the
executioner. Craft, Horo, and Cysma arrive at the scene as Alex is
announcing that he will be slaying a demon. When Horo pleads with
Hikaro to stop, the paladin feels slighted, and slashes at her with his
sword out of anger. Her hood ends up being cut open, revealing her own
pair of wolf ears. Both Cysma and Alexander are quite surprised at this
revelation, and Cysma even passes out from shock.

Alexander tries to kill Horo as well, but an angry Lawrence steps up
for her. He grabs Cysma's sword and tries to fight him, but he is no
match for Hikaro's well-trained swordsmanship skills. He decides that
Lawrence should die as well for knowingly protecting a "vile demon".
Just as he announces this, he notices that the crowd that had been
gathering up to this point has suddenly fled. Behind him, where
Kurokami was supposed to be, now stands a massive black wolf towering
over everyone.

Alexander turns his attention back to Kurokami, now in his wolf form.
He puts up quite a fight despite the great difference in size between
him and his opponent, but Kuro brings the battle to a close by grabbing
the paladin in his mouth, crunching through his armor with his fangs,
and spitting him out in a bloody heap several yards away.

Horo and Lawrence quickly leave the scene and flee out of the city
during the confusion, carrying Cysma with them until he comes to. He
tells them about a strange dream he had where Horo had some unusual
ears...

Kurokami vanishes from Lironus as well, and Alexander is hospitalized.
He swears, however, that as soon as he recovers, he will go out and
hunt down all four of these evildoers; two humans and two demons...

How's that? Let me hear what you think of it!

Pretty good.
You should create a manga.

P.S. Is it just me or do you like writing down bloody stuff?

Not really. The blood was just to build up the intensity.

To continue the story, Cysma, being a freelance adventurer and having already fulfilled his contract with Lawrence and Horo to take them to Lironus, is free to take off in his own direction. He soon does, but he can't stop thinking about Horo.

On his next adventure, Cysma finds a group of vicious beasts attacking a mysterious girl. He defeats the monsters and finds out that the girl has the ears and tail of some wild cat. Besides that, Cysma can't get any more information from her other than her name, Ilnifara, and that she is forever indebted to Cysma for saving her life. Now she will follow him everywhere he goes. Cysma was never comfortable even around normal girls, and the fact that Ilnifara is dressed the same way Horo was when she and Lawrence met doesn't help him either.

Kurokami continues looking for Horo, never giving up until she stays with him. On the way somewhere, he accidentally attracts the attention and admiration of the sun goddess Amaterasu, now in a humanoid form as well.

All of the characters get involved with a kingdom looking to expand its territory, and its ruler has sent his son, Prince Zantos, as a diplomat to the neighboring regions. He introduces the other lands to his kingdom's currency: gold coins! Lawrence, being a merchant and all, is interested in seeing how this conversion would impact the economy. However, if any land turns down the request to become part of Zantos' father's kingdom, it will be taken by force.

Would anyone here happen to be interested in drawing any of my original characters? If you are, I can provide a more detailed physical description of them.

Another piece of information!

Ilnifara the catgirl has the power to see into the hearts of others. She can sense your true emotions, no matter how hard you try to hide them.

Alexander later receives word of her power, and goes on looking for a way to take it from her, so that he can detect evil in the hearts of men.

When Ilnifara and Kurokami meet, she senses a cold and lonely heart of sadness within him...
